Dynamic Triaxial Testing Device

Hydraulic load-apparatus to simulate fluctuating three-dimensional stress conditions more...

Ring shear apparatus

Ring shear apparatus (25MPa normal stress) to determine frictional behaviour, peak and residual shear strength and pore-pressure changes of marine sediments more...

Shear strength testing (vane shear device, direct shear apparatus, falling cone penetrometer)

Heated uniaxial apparatus

Two machines were constructed at the soil-mechanical laboratory of the RCOM Bremen. The main field of application is to investigate water-saturated sediment-probes of varying composition over huge ranges of pressure and temperature. Both machines were constructed to allow long-term investigations of physical and chemical processes. more...

HYDSPA Apparatur

At MARUM Marine Geotechnics, a hydrothermal (up to 250°C) direct shear apparatus has been developed. The system is capable of utting 250 MPa normal force onto samples which get sheared al low to moderate rates to simulate frictional sliding of fault rocks down to PT regimes equivalent to the seismogenic zone. During shear, pore pressure and permeability in the fault zone can be monitored/controlled.

Permeameter

Several backpressured permeameter systems, spanning from 800 kPa to 3.5 MPa confining pressure, are available for hydraulic testing in the MARUM geotechnical laboratory.
